How to send me stuff…
Some of you have asked what and/or how to send me stuff. First the what…
FOOD.
I’m a vegetarian (except for free hot dogs which I’ll never eat again because my digestive pattern is all out of whack now). If you have a dehydrator, dehydrated soups, stews, chilis, pastas, ANYTHING, makes wonderful dinners. Put in ziplock baggy.
Dehydrating can be time-costly, so another great food is baked goods (i.e., rice crispy treats, peanut butter balls) — any high calorie, snack-sized treat that won’t crumble too badly in my pack. If it does crumble, I’ll eat it anyway.
Finally, I’d be just as happy with candy. Look for candies with at least 100 calories per 1 oz (1 oz = 28 g) but it really doesn’t matter. I’ll eat anything you send. Chocolate stuff is awesome – esp. Snickers!
For the how…
You can always send it/give it to my mom @
2701 Old Stage Rd
Spring City, TN 37381
Ooooor, you can try to send it to me on the trail. For this method, you also have two options: either call my mom @ 423-667-5407 and find out where I’ll be picking up my next mail drop, or send me an e-mail and I’ll respond whenever I’m around the internet again. You should address the package as such:
Thru-Hiker Jon Schwenk
General Delivery
City/State/Zip
E.T.A. (date)
I’ll make a deal — anyone who sends me anything will receive a postcard from somewhere along my way… and my undying love.

God made dirt, dirt don’t hurt. Put it in your mouth and let it go to work.
